The Kona Dew is a hybrid that pursued a different career than it’s brothers and sisters. Sort of the lighter, faster, big brother of the Kona Smoke, the Dew was developed as the ultimate commuter bike. It has dropped all the extra frills and unnecessary comforts of your typical hybrid. Gone is the suspension fork and seatpost. All they did was add extra weight and inefficiency for roads that aren’t as rough as your average mountain bike trail. Instead it comes with a steel fork with its inherent vibrational damping properties and pothole-proof strength. Gone is the adjustable stem. That thing was heavy, and who needed to sit straight up riding a bike anyway? The Dew gives you a more efficient position, still comfortable for a long hard commute. The aluminum frame and sensible components keep the weight down, as well as the price. If you want a sportier hybrid for commuting or recreational riding, and aren’t planning on taking it off road (now be honest), than the Dew is your ticket to a fun ride to work, school, or just around town.
