The Rack-Pack is a duffle bag, built with Ortlieb’s standard materials and methods to be waterproof. It has a single compartment that measures 9.4” x 18.9” x 9.4”, for a total volume of 1465 cubic inches. The compartment is accessed by a roll closure from the top. The roll closure keeps out water and dust, and the contents of the bag will stay dry even if the bag is submerged in water. The bag has straps and buckles that mate with buckles on Ortlieb’s Front-Roller and Back-Roller panniers, so when combined with those items it works very well as a rack-top bag for bicycle touring. The Rack-Pack is an ideal place to carry a small tent or sleeping bag or other bulky items on your tour.

The Rack-Pack uses Ortlieb’s normal bag construction. The main body fabric is double coated polyester, which is very rugged, puncture and abrasion resistant, and highly waterproof. All the main seams in the bag are welded, not sewn. Welded seams are expensive to construct, but they are stronger than sewn seams, and no needle holes means no need for extra waterproofing and no leaks. The result is a durable, waterproof bag, backed by a 5 year warranty against defects.
