Old Man Mountain AC LowRider front rack

The Old Man Mountain AC Lowrider is a front rack that works with rigid front forks. It is adjustable to fit both 700c and 26” wheeled bikes. “Lowrider” means it holds the panniers low, centered near the front wheel’s axle, which lowers the bike’s center of gravity and improves steering when compared to higher mounted front panniers.

The AC Lowrider has a weight capacity of 30 pounds and weighs 450 grams. The mid-eyelet crossbar is adjustable, so the rack can be set up with the tops parallel to the ground on virtually any 26” or 700c fork. This rack does require that there be mounting eyelets built in to the midpoint of each fork blade, either on the outsides of each blade or through each blade.

The AC Lowrider rack is constructed of hollow aluminum tubing throughout, with plate aluminum for the mid-eyelet crossbars. The aluminum is 6061-T6 alloy for strength, anodized black for looks. It is made in the USA, and has a lifetime guarantee.

Note: Old Man Mountain racks, and any other racks constructed of steel or aluminum tube stock, are not compatible with child seats, Wald baskets, or any other accessories that use clamps fastened by nuts and bolts to attach to the rack. The clamps will crush the tube stock. For this type of accessory, use racks made with solid aluminum rod such as Blackburn racks.
