2008 Bicycle Maintenance and Repair Classes

Our Maintenance and Repair Workshops are interactive sessions that give you a chance to get your hands dirty while learning how to care for your bike. Feel free to bring your own bike, or use one of our demo bikes. There are two classes, Basic and Intermediate, with multiple sessions available for each class. Classes are taught by our friendly, experienced staff of trainers and are held on Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM. Advanced registration is required, and classes cost $10 per session. Call your nearest Touring Cyclist store to sign up, or print out and mail in this form to sign up.
Level 1: Basic Maintenance
- How to ride, transport and store your bike to keep it in top shape.
- Preventative maintenance: how to lubricate and inspect your bike.
- Simple on-the-road repairs: fixing flats, repairing chains.
Level 2: Intermediate Repairs
- How to adjust headsets, hubs, and bottom bracket bearings.
- How to adjust derailleurs, front and rear.
- How to adjust brakes.

Classes last 2 hours, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Advanced reservations are required, and classes are limited to a maximum of 10 students per session. No refunds unless requested at least 48 hours before the session.
