Touring Cyclist Bicycle Warranty Policy

Every new bicycle sold by The Touring Cyclist comes with a warranty provided by the original manufacturer. Please see the manufacturer’s web site or read the bicycle owner’s manual to see the terms of that warranty.

To help ensure the quality of every new bicycle we sell, The Touring Cyclist provides to the original owner unlimited free adjustments on that bicycle for 3 (three) years from the date of purchase. During those 3 years The Touring Cyclist will perform the following adjustments on your bicycle: derailleurs, brakes, all adjustable bearing surfaces, tire air pressure, general wheel truing, and adjustment of parts to facilitate proper rider fit on the bicycle. We will also check for correct tightness of saddle, seatpost, handlebar, stem, cranks, pedals, wheel quick-releases, and any other bolts on the bicycle.

The Touring Cyclist will not perform free adjustments on bikes that are excessively dirty, have been neglected or abused. Forms of neglect and abuse include, but are not limited to, bikes left exposed to the weather, not receiving any service for an excessive period of time, or continuing to be ridden after in some way sustaining damaged or coming out of adjustment. Parts that have received damage or are so worn as to need replacing are not covered. Some parts on a bicycle including, but not limited to, chains, cables, housing, tires, and tubes are consumables and are expected to wear at a reasonable rate as a bicycle is ridden. The Touring Cyclist will also not perform adjustments on any bicycle if, after the free adjustment work, the bicycle would be in anyway unsafe. If the customer chooses to pay to have the necessary repairs done to correct abuse, wear, or some other unsafe situation The Touring Cyclist will again provide free adjustments on the bicycle.

The Touring Cyclist also provides one free new bike tune-up redeemable in the first 3 (three) months of purchase. We recommend redeeming that service 30 (thirty) days after purchase. This tune-up is mandatory—the offer of 3 years of free adjustments is void if the customer does not return the bicycle for a tune-up during the first 3 months.
